‘Fact-check’ on video of cop seen kicking man: Karnataka top cop shares details | Bengaluru

After a video of a cop – kicking a person in Belagavi – was extensively shared on social media. Karnataka Director Basic of Police (DGP), Praveen Sood, has shared a ‘fact-check’ report, which mentioned that the video is from a film capturing. The visuals have been reported to have emerged from Chennamma Circle in Belagavi. The video made rounds on social media, with a number of accusing cops of brutality and harassment.

On Twitter, the Karnataka prime cop wrote, “Information concerning the video of a police officer kicking an individual at Chennamma Circle Belagavi metropolis. – Karnataka State Police Truth Test. (sic)”. Within the publish, an official assertion by the police was shared. “A video clip from Belagavi metropolis being circulated on numerous social media platforms exhibits a police officer assaulting an individual. Many individuals on social media are accusing police brutality on seeing this video,” it learn.

“This video of a police officer assaulting an individual is from the film “HOYSALA”, capturing at Rani chennamma circle Belagavi metropolis. The film clip has been misinterpreted, and the police division is being portrayed negatively on social media. The video is just not real looking. We request the general public to not share the video. Belagavi metropolis police have already clarified on this regard which is shared under,’ it additional said.

The police commissioner of Belagavi metropolis shared the assertion on social media.

“That is for the eye of the general public. A video of capturing from the film ‘Hoysala’, which exhibits a police officer pushing a person to the bottom and kicking him, has been circulated. We request the general public to not share or publish the video on social media and painting a destructive picture of the police division,” the assertion underlined.
