Germany’s Commerzbank sues EY for Wirecard losses

FRANKFURT, Jan 19 (Reuters) – The German lender Commerzbank (CBKG.DE) is suing accounting agency EY over the 200 million euros ($216.12 million) in losses that it incurred within the collapse of Wirecard, a financial institution spokesperson stated on Thursday.

Wirecard’s downfall two years in the past shook the German enterprise institution, placing politicians who had backed it beneath intense scrutiny, together with regulators that took years to analyze allegations towards the funds firm.

EY was for years the agency that audited and authorized Wirecard’s books whilst journalists and buyers raised questions on its funds.
