The Bengaluru police Friday registered a First Data Report (FIR) after a girl alleged that gold and diamond ornaments had gone lacking from her financial institution locker.
The lady, 54, who has held a financial savings account with the SBI {Dollars} Colony department since December 2022, stated she started utilizing the locker facility on June 17, 2023. Based on her grievance, she saved 145 gram of gold and diamond ornaments valued at roughly Rs 12 lakh within the locker.
She added that when she checked final on March 29, 2025, she found that every one of her ornaments have been lacking. The lady claimed that when she approached Department Supervisor Bharateesh and Deputy Supervisor Filjit John relating to the difficulty, they denied any data of the identical and suggested her to file a police grievance.
The FIR filed on Could 30 names two financial institution officers, amongst others. The police have invoked Part 305A (theft in a dwelling home, technique of transportation, or place of worship) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita within the case.
A senior officer confirmed that an investigation was underway to find out how the contents of the locker went lacking.
This isn’t the primary time that such an incident has occurred in Bengaluru. In 2020, the Shivaji Nagar police registered a case after gold ornaments went lacking from the locker of a financial institution.
