All soccer leagues in Turkey have been suspended after a referee was punched to the bottom by a membership president following a top-flight recreation.
Referee Halil Umut Meler was hit by MKE Ankaragucu president Faruk Koca, who ran on to the pitch after his crew conceded a 97th minute equaliser in a Tremendous Lig draw with Caykur Rizespor.
The incident sparked chaotic scenes involving gamers and followers, with a number of folks arrested.
Koca has since resigned from his position at MKE Ankaragucu and apologised for his actions, saying he felt “nice embarrassment”.
