I-T searches at two Congress Jharkhand MLAs’ houses

The Earnings Tax Division on Friday carried out searches on the residential premises of two Jharkhand Congress MLAs — Kumar Jaimangal and Pradeep Yadav — sources aware of the event stated.

Jaimangal alias Anup Singh is a legislator from Bermo, whereas Yadav, who joined Congress after splitting from the JVM-P, represents Poreyahat. Autos bearing Bihar registration quantity purportedly belonging I-T officers had been noticed exterior Jaimangal’s residence. Sources in Godda additionally confirmed the presence of I-T officers at Yadav’s residence.

In keeping with stories, Jaimangal purportedly informed the media that individuals who don’t take heed to the BJP, their homes will likely be raided. In his election affidavit, Jaimangal had acknowledged that he doesn’t personal any immovable property.

In keeping with a PTI report, the I-T Division is conducting the searches as a part of an investigation into tax evasion prices.

Jaimangal had been within the information after he had filed a criticism in Jharkhand, resulting in the registration of a zero FIR, following the arrest of three Congress MLAs in West Bengal with Rs 50 lakh in money on July 31.

He alleged a bid to topple the JMM-Congress-RJD authorities within the state, with a suggestion of Rs 10 crore per MLA and claimed that the three MLAs had lured him to fulfill Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma — an allegation termed “fraudulent” by BJP leaders.

In 2021, too, Jaimangal had filed an identical criticism, saying makes an attempt had been being made to “destabilise the coalition authorities in Jharkhand”.
