A number of homes and buildings within the Icelandic city of Grindavik have been engulfed in flames after lava surrounded them.
Lava flows have slowed within the south-west, with a meteorological skilled telling the BBC that the state of affairs close to Grindavik had “very a lot eased” on Monday.
The city was initially evacuated in November after an earlier eruption, with some residents being quickly allowed house. Defences had been then in-built December, to stop lava reaching properties, however some had been partially breached.
Drone footage from 14 January reveals the extent of the harm being brought on by lava that spewed from the bottom, after two fissures opened close by.
