In a message to the newly appointed army leaders, together with military chief Asim Munir, former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan expressed hope that they’ll work to finish the prevailing belief deficit between the nation and the State.

“Congratulations to Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as new CJCSC and Gen Syed Asim Munir as new COAS. We hope new mly ldrship will work to finish prevailing belief deficit that has constructed up in final 8 months between the nation and the State. Power of the State is derived from its individuals,” Imran Khan stated.

Quoting Pakistan’s founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Imran Khan stated, “Don’t forget that the armed forces are the servants of the individuals and you don’t make nationwide coverage; it’s we, the civilians, who determine these points and it’s your obligation to hold out these duties with which you’re entrusted.”

This comes a day after Lt Common Asim Munir took over the command from outgoing Chief of Military Workers Common Qamar Javed Bajwa, marking an finish to his six-year tenure.
