India’s solar energy capacity rose 91% in 3 years: Govt

Photo voltaic vitality capability in India has elevated from 28,180 megawatts in March 2019 to 53,996 megawatts on the finish of 2021-22, Union Minister of New and Renewable Power and Energy RK Singh knowledgeable Parliament earlier this week. Accordingly, up to now three years, the photo voltaic capability within the nation elevated by about 91 %.

The cumulative photo voltaic vitality capability on the finish of 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 was at 34,627, 40,085, and 53,996 mega watts, respectively.

Additional, in reply to a query whether or not the federal government has set any goal to extend the photo voltaic capability throughout the nation, the minister replied: “The Authorities has set a goal of reaching 500 GW of put in capability from non-fossil fuels by 2030, consistent with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s announcement at CoP-26.”
