Internal quota: Karnataka to go for fresh survey of SCs, report in 2 months | Bangalore News

The Karnataka Cupboard Thursday accepted the interim report on inside reservation submitted by a one-man Fee and accredited its suggestion of conducting a recent survey for a scientific classification of sub-castes within the Scheduled Caste (SC) class.

The time period of the Fee below Justice Nagamohan Das was additionally prolonged by two months to finish the survey of SC teams within the state, after which the state would announce the inner reservation to SC communities within the state, Legislation and Parliamentary Affairs minister H Okay Patil stated. The Justice Das Fee submitted its interim report back to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday morning after which it was taken up in the course of the Cupboard assembly.

Patil stated that the Fee had made 4 suggestions, resembling “a brand new survey to compile empirical knowledge for the scientific classification of SC sub-castes”, finishing the survey in 30-40 days, making ready a questionnaire and the institutes, and assets required for a high-level committee for the brand new survey.

On March 25, The Indian Categorical had reported that the Fee was prone to advocate a recent survey because of the lack of empirical knowledge on sub-castes amongst SCs.
