Eminent Kannada creator and winner of Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards S L Bhyrappa handed away in Bengaluru Wednesday. He was 94. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condoled his demise.
Bhyrappa was admitted to Rashtrotthana Hospital in Bengaluru three days in the past after complaining of fatigue. Chatting with reporters, Dr H N Shyla, medical administrator of the hospital, mentioned the author suffered a cardiac arrest at round 1 pm on Wednesday. “Efforts to resuscitate didn’t succeed. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah mentioned he was saddened by the demise of the creator. “As a consequence of his intimate type of writing, Bhyrappa had numerous readers. His demise has impoverished the literary world,” he acknowledged.
