Captain Vijayant Thapar graduated from the Indian Army Academy in December 1998 and joined the 12 Rajputana Rifles. On Could 25, 1999, his unit acquired orders to maneuver to Drass and fight Pakistani Military troops from Tololing, Tiger Hill and surrounding areas.
On June 28,1999, he was given the duty of main his platoon to seize Three Pimples, Knoll and Lone hill space. Although they conquered Knoll, Vijayant Thapar misplaced his life to a burst of firing.
