Karnataka: Congress demands suspension of cop who manhandled party worker | Bengaluru

The Karnataka Congress demanded the suspension of the police officer who was discovered punching their celebration employee for sporting PayCM t-shirt at Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. The cop pressured the employee to take his shirt off. A video of the incident went viral.

The Twitter deal with of the state celebration unit wrote, “#PayCm is condemnable that the police oppressed our activist who was sporting a T-shirt. Who approved the police to assault him on the street by unbuttoning his T-shirt? Are they cops or gangsters? The assaulting officer must be suspended instantly. (Sic)”

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) DK Shivakumar condemned the arrest and mentioned that the ruling BJP is attempting to scare individuals who communicate towards corruption within the state. “The police brutality of our celebration employee who was sporting a T-shirt whereas #PayCM is condemnable. BJP is concentrating on those that query corruption. Persons are afraid of this. The purpose of the Bharat Eykita Yatra is to take away such an environment of concern. Completely shameless act of misuse of energy. Since #40PercentSarkara is speechless with corruption fees, it’s resorting to gundagardi, identical to on this video.(Sic)”

Hours after the incident, police mentioned they’ve booked Congress employee Akshay Kumar from Vijayapura district beneath sections 505(1)(B) (with intent to trigger, or which is prone to trigger, concern or alarm to the general public, or to any part of the general public whereby any individual could also be induced to commit an offence towards the state) and 507 (legal intimidation by an nameless communication) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier, when ‘PayCM’ posters cropped up at numerous locations in Bengaluru, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai referred to as it a conspiracy towards the recognition of the state. CM Bommai additionally warned of motion towards the perpetrators.
