Karnataka: Lingayat seer found dead in suspected case of suicide

A case of unnatural loss of life has been registered on the Kudur police station within the Ramanagara district of Karnataka following the loss of life of the pinnacle pontiff of the Lingayat Kanchugal Bandemutt in a suspected case of suicide.

Basavalinga Swamy, 44, the pinnacle pontiff of the Kanchugal Bandemutt, was discovered useless in his room when devotees broke open the door to the room after the seer didn’t open the door Monday morning and likewise didn’t reply to telephone calls from the devotees.

A two-page word written by the seer was discovered within the room, Ramesh L, a instructor at a faculty run by the Bandemutt informed the police in a press release concerning the loss of life. The word reportedly states that the seer was being harassed with the specter of defamation by a couple of individuals.

The Bandemutt has been in existence for over 400 years and Basavalinga Swamy was the seer of the mutt for the final 25 years. The Ramanagara police have begun an investigation into the loss of life of the seer following the registration of a case of unnatural loss of life.

Final month, Basavasiddalinga Swamiji, the pontiff of Sri Guru Madiwaleshwar Mutt within the Neginahala village of Bailahongala taluk of Belagavi district, was discovered useless in a case of suicide. The loss of life occurred after an audio clip went viral on social media suggesting that seers had been misusing their positions of energy.
