A panchayat improvement officer (PDO) was hacked to loss of life Wednesday by unknown individuals in Lingasugur police limits of Karnataka’s Raichur district.
The deceased has been recognized as Gajadandayya Swamy, a PDO working with the Kota Gram Panchayat. The homicide happened when Swamy was using his two-wheeler and was suspectedly stopped by some males to alternate banni leaves, a ritual throughout Vijayadashami.
Preliminary probe revealed that the PDO might need been murdered by the miscreants in the course of the exchanging of banni leaves, receiving Prasada, or whereas doing namaskara to the deity as Swamy had eliminated his helmet and footwear.
The police stated Swamy and the killers might have recognized one another which can have led him to cease his bike. The police suspect that the assailants might have attacked Swamy with sharp weapons whereas he was speaking to a number of the accused. The motive behind the homicide continues to be not recognized. Lingasuguru police have registered a case and a probe is underway.
