Kremlin Says Will 'Closely Follow' Meet Between Zelensky, Turkey's Erdogan

Moscow, Russia:

The Kremlin stated Friday it would “carefully observe” upcoming talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Turkey counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, describing their assembly in Istanbul as “necessary.”

The Ukrainian and Turkish leaders will meet in Istanbul for talks on the eve of the five hundredth day since Moscow launched its offensive.

“We’ll very carefully observe the outcomes of those talks,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov advised reporters.

“It is going to be attention-grabbing for us to seek out out what was mentioned. It is necessary,” he added.

Peskov stated Moscow “cherishes” its relationship with Ankara and acknowledged Erdogan’s mediation efforts.

“Mr. Erdogan has repeatedly made nice efforts to finish varied issues throughout the framework of the Ukrainian battle and performed a mediating function,” the spokesman stated.

He added that Moscow “didn’t exclude” talks between President Vladimir Putin and Erdogan.

The Turkish chief has retained good ties with each Kyiv and Moscow for the reason that Kremlin launched its Ukraine army marketing campaign final February.

He helped dealer a key grain deal final 12 months to unblock Ukrainian ports within the Black Sea.
