The much-awaited launch of Axiom-4 mission to the Worldwide Area Station (ISS) has been postponed to June 11, ISRO stated on Monday.
The SpaceX rocket was earlier set to liftoff on June 8, however the launch was pushed again to June 10. On the time, Axiom Area had stated: “This shift permits groups to account for predicted inclement climate through the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft transport along with finishing ultimate processing of the spacecraft forward of launch”.
This would be the fourth non-public astronaut flight from Axiom Area and the primary to hold an Indian astronaut to the Worldwide Area Station (ISS).
Piloted by India’s Shubhanshu Shukla, the mission marks a big milestone, fulfilling the dedication made by US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ship an ISRO astronaut to the station and Nationwide Aeronautics and Area Administration (NASA) collaborates with the Indian house company within the mission.

Shubhanshu Shukla on mission
Notably, Shukla would be the second Indian to journey to house after Rakesh Sharma, who undertook a spaceflight in 1984. Shukla is an alumnus of the Nationwide Defence Academy (NDA), Pune. He was commissioned into the Indian Air Power (IAF) fighter wing in June 2006 and have become Group Captain in March 2024. Shukla has 2,000 hours of flight expertise throughout numerous plane, together with the Su-30 MKI, MiG-21, MiG-29, Jaguar, Hawk, Dornier, and An-32.
The AX-4 crew and SpaceX groups had completed a full rehearsal of launch day actions forward of its launch on Monday and the mission is about to hold the primary astronauts from Hungary and Poland to the house station.

The 4 crew members within the mission are from the USA, India, Poland and Hungary. Peggy Whitson, the director of human spaceflight at Axiom Area and a former NASA astronaut will spearhead the business mission and ISRO astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla will function pilot. Other than that, ESA (European Area Company) undertaking astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski of Poland and Tibor Kapu of Hungary will probably be a part of the mission.
