MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Wednesday highlighted what he thinks is the important thing “theme” of Donald Trump’s presidency, which is expounded to an admission the president made when requested a couple of key navy determination.
Earlier this week, Trump acknowledged he didn’t know who in his administration had ordered a pause in sending some munitions to Ukraine because the nation continues to defend itself from Russia’s invasion. When reminded of that remark and requested if he’d since came upon who made the decision, Trump replied: “I haven’t thought of it.”
Pressed additional on what it says “that such an enormous determination could possibly be made” with out him realizing, Trump pivoted and insisted, “I’d know,” including, “If a call was made, I’ll know,” that he’d be “the primary to know,” and, “In reality, most probably I’d give the order.”
O’Donnell, baffled, commented: “In case you don’t suppose that that string of English phrases made any sense, you might be right. It didn’t make any sense.”
However “if there’s a shred of reality in something that Donald Trump stated” in his response, O’Donnell stated it will be the 5 phrases, “I haven’t thought of it.”
“And that’s the reality of every part Donald Trump does and doesn’t do as president: ‘I haven’t thought of it,’” he continued.
O’Donnell then tore into Trump:
“That’s the theme of the Trump presidency. In your lifetime of listening to presidents being requested questions on coverage conditions they’re actively engaged in day by day, you could have by no means as soon as heard a president say, ‘I haven’t thought of it.’ It takes Trumpian stupidity to say one thing like that. And while you’re as silly as Donald Trump, you haven’t any concept how silly your stupidity sounds. Donald Trump is trapped in his stupidity. There isn’t any manner he can pretend sounding sensible about something, not even his lifetime ardour and best experience, golf, which he merely lies about.”
