Lunar eclipse to be visible in Karnataka; Check timings, events scheduled | Bengaluru

The entire lunar eclipse set to happen on Tuesday can be partially seen in lots of components of Karnataka, reminiscent of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Ballari, Mangaluru, Dharwad, Karwar, Bagalkote, Raichur, and Chamarajanagara. The eclipse can be seen totally within the western a part of North America, east of Russia, Japan, and New Zealand, the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium mentioned. Some components of east India may also see the total eclipse.

“The entire eclipse part will finish at 5.12pm. In Bengaluru, the partially eclipsed full moon will rise at 5.49 pm and the partial eclipse will be seen until 6.19 pm,” the planetarium mentioned.

“Later penumbral part of the eclipse will proceed and eclipse will recover from by 7:30 pm. Lunar eclipse is protected to look at via bare eye or via telescopes,” it added.

The eclipse will be noticed for 18 to 33 minutes throughout varied cities in Karnataka.

A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth strikes in between the Moon and the Solar, blocking the Solar’s mild from falling on the Moon. Therefore, the Moon seems darkened because it has Earth’s shadow on it. In a lunar eclipse, the Solar, Moon and the Earth are all aligned.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium may have a dwell stream of the eclipse, together with a lecture and a query – reply session on the identical, the Deccan Herald reported.
