Maharashtra chain-snatching gang busted in Bengaluru; 4 held | Bangalore News

The police on Tuesday arrested 4 members of a Maharashtra-based gang that was reportedly concerned in chain-snatching incidents in Bengaluru metropolis.

Gang chief Shahid and his aides Shabbir, Tanveer, and Ali Naki have been nabbed from Mysuru for allegedly making off with the gold chain of an aged lady on Jayamahal Essential Street, Bengaluru, on March 3, the police stated. On interrogation, it was discovered that the gang was concerned in a number of chain-snatching circumstances within the metropolis.

Shahid, a routine offender, was beforehand jailed beneath the Maharashtra Management of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and was launched in January, stated an officer.

Based on the police, they analysed over 150 CCTV clips, which helped them hint the gang’s escape path to Bagepalli in Chikkaballapura, and came upon the criminals had handed the stolen chain to an confederate ready within the automobile.

Additional investigation, together with evaluation of name element data and surveillance footage, led the officers to find the unique proprietor of the automobile. They have been lastly tracked down in Mysuru, close to Bannimantap, whereas they have been allegedly planning one other theft.
