Bengaluru police have registered a case towards an official of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple within the Amruthahalli locality for allegedly thrashing and dragging a lady exterior the premises, a video of which has gone viral on social media, officers stated on Friday.
Within the viral video, a person is seen pulling the girl by her hair throughout the temple flooring. As she resists, the person lunges for her dupatta and continues to push her out the temple door. Two males, together with a priest, are seen witnessing the incident however providing no assist. Following the incident, the sufferer, Hemavathi, lodged a criticism with Amruthahalli police station stating that the stated incident occurred on December 21 and the accused is Munikrishna, a ‘dharamdarshi’ of the temple in Amruthahalli locality, police stated on Friday.
Anoop Shetty, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), north-east, stated the case was registered on Thursday.
“We have now registered the case on charging of assault and outraging the modesty of a lady primarily based on the criticism.
