Mohammed Shariq, the prime accused within the Mangaluru blast case, was shifted to Bengaluru on Saturday, police officers instructed information company PTI. He was taken from Mangaluru to Victoria Hospital within the Karnataka state capital for therapy of burn accidents on the recommendation of his medical doctors.
Shariq, a local of Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, was dropped at the hospital at 6 am. He suffered 45 per cent burns after a strain cooker he was carrying exploded in an autorickshaw on the outskirts of Mangaluru final month.
The cooker was discovered to have been fitted with detonators, wires and batteries.

The motive force of the auto rickshaw was additionally injured within the blast and is being handled in Mangaluru, police stated.
Shariq was questioned by the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) earlier this month, after medical doctors declared him match for questioning. He had reportedly misplaced the usage of his voice after the blast.

The case has raked up a political slugfest between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress in Karnataka, particularly after KPCC chief DK Shivakumar questioned the probe into the case.
“Hours after the Mangaluru blast, the ruling authorities and DGP instantly declared it a terrorist exercise with none investigation, as if it was just like the Mumbai terror assault,” Shivkumar stated on Thursday, invoking clap backs from chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and residential minister Araga Jnanendra.
