Memorials of Communist leaders sullied in Kannur: Police | Latest News India

Police on Thursday registered a case in opposition to unidentified miscreants after a number of memorials of Communist leaders have been defaced at Payyambalam in Kannur, officers stated.

The memorials devoted to Communist leaders similar to EK Nayanar, Chadayan Govindan, O Bharathan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan have been discovered to be defaced with some form of substance, stated an official accustomed to the matter.

Kannur metropolis police commissioner Ajit Kumar stated, “Based on the preliminary findings , the miscreants sprayed some form of sugary liquid on the memorials. It’s a juice like substance and never a chemical. It’s not clear when was the crime dedicated as there aren’t any CCTV cameras immediately going through the world. The inquiry is happening.”

The Communist Occasion of India (Marxist) management took notice on the incident and alleged a “conspiracy” behind it particularly with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“The incidents needs to be examined if it is a conspiracy to deflect the individuals’s consideration from the main points at a time when the Left entrance is strongly marching forward in its marketing campaign within the Lok Sabha elections. The culprits needs to be discovered and punished.
