A mixer grinder that had come as a parcel exploded at a courier workplace in Hassan, leaving one particular person injured, police mentioned on Tuesday. The incident occurred at DTDC courier workplace at Okay R Puram right here on Monday evening, and the injured has been recognized as Shashi, who labored on the courier workplace.

“It’s mentioned that the mixi had come as a courier. It’s but to be verified whether or not it exploded when the plug was related to plug level or exploded by itself as a parcel,” Hassan Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariram Shankar mentioned.

In line with the police, Shashi suffered accidents on his palms and a few components of his physique and is present process therapy. He’s out of hazard and is aware. The SP mentioned, the mixi blade is the one which precipitated harm, apart from that overseas projectiles or nails or ball bearings haven’t been discovered. The glasses of the store have been broken because of the power of the explosion.

“The FSL (Forensic Science Lab) staff from Mysuru will have a look at the trigger and nature of the explosion and the way it occurred. It’s but to be verified from the place the parcel had come,” he added.

Police mentioned statements are being gathered relating to the incident and a case has been registered beneath the related sections of Explosive Substances Act. In line with a police official, there’s nothing suspicious but and investigation is on.

The incident had created a number of suspicion, following a cooker blast in an auto rickshaw in Mangaluru not too long ago, which the police referred to as an act of terror, and had blamed the passenger, recognized as Mohammed Shariq (24) from Tirthahalli in Shivamogga district, for the blast. The Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) is investigating the Mangaluru blast case.
