Mangaluru City Improvement Authority (MUDA) commissioner Noor Zahara Khanam has lodged a police criticism in opposition to two middlemen for allegedly threatening to kill her and defaming her.
Khanam filed the criticism on March 29 on the Urwa police station. The accused, Wahab and Sabith, allegedly focused Khanam after she restricted middlemen from interfering in single-site approvals and different official issues. The curbs had been enforced after a person allegedly trespassed into the MUDA workplace and tampered with information on January 7.
The accused allegedly created a WhatsApp group with different middlemen and posted defamatory content material about Khanam between January 7 and March 27. They’re accused of creating threatening cellphone calls, which included demise threats.
The police stated the accused used social media to disrupt workplace operations and conspired in opposition to Khanam. They allegedly resorted to threats involving black magic practices.
The Urwa police registered a case underneath sections 132 (assault or utilizing legal power in opposition to a public servant), 351 (legal intimidation), 356 (1) (defamation), 61 (2) (legal conspiracy) and 352 (intentional insult to impress breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
