MUDA ‘scam’: ED attaches sites worth Rs 100 crore in Mysuru | Bangalore News

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday provisionally connected 92 immovable properties in Mysuru, with a market worth of Rs 100 crore, in reference to the alleged Mysore City Growth Authority (MUDA) rip-off.

The ED connected the MUDA websites beneath the provisions of the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act, 2002, stating that the properties had been registered within the title of entities resembling people and housing cooperative societies serving as fronts or dummies for influential folks, together with MUDA officers.

The ED initiated an investigation based mostly on an FIR registered by the Lokayukta police in Mysuru beneath varied sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act in opposition to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others.

The investigation revealed “a large-scale rip-off in allotment of MUDA websites by flouting varied statutes and authorities orders/ pointers and by different fraudulent means”, the ED stated in an announcement.

The central company additional stated that the function of ex-MUDA commissioners, together with G T Dinesh Kumar, has emerged as “instrumental in unlawful allotment of compensation websites to ineligible entities/people”.
