The North Creek hearth, burning on U.S. Forest Service land about six miles northwest of the Beulah Valley, is 100% contained.

The fireplace, which began about 1 p.m. Saturday, has burned 50 acres, based on hearth officers. Mild smoke should still be seen from the inside space of the hearth.
The fireplace, which burned via grass, brush and ponderosa pine, was human-caused, sparked by a campfire, based on Pike & San Isabel Nationwide Forest officers. No constructions are threatened. Firefighters will proceed to patrol the hearth all through the week.
