‘Not a religion, but a nationality’: BJP ex-MP’s video viral amid Karnataka ‘Hindu’ row

Amid the controversy over Karnataka Congress working president Satish Jarkiholi’s remarks on the phrase Hindu, an previous video went viral of BJP former MP Ramesh Katti purportedly saying that Hinduism was “not a faith”, however a lifestyle and nationality.

“There’s a dialogue in regards to the Hindu faith lately. The Hindu faith, in my view, is just not a faith. It’s a heritage, a lifestyle,” he’s heard saying within the video.

Regardless of criticism from BJP and the Congress distancing itself from his remarks, Jarkiholi caught to his stand, including that his statements have been based mostly on historic data.

Jarkiholi had stated the phrase ‘Hindu’ was of Persian origin and requested what was the relation between Hindu and India. “In the event you perceive the that means of the phrase, you may be ashamed… The that means of the phrase Hindu could be very soiled.
