Old Video Shows Titan Sub Spinning Out Of Control On Mission

The submersible went lacking shortly after diving in direction of the Titanic wreckage.

Newly surfaced footage from a BBC documentary on Titan submersible exhibits a distressing incident wherein the vessel spun uncontrollably after the pilot misplaced command. The documentary covers a mission carried out by the sub in 2022. Because the 5 passengers aboard the Titan approached the Titanic wreck, pilot Scott Griffith alerted the group of an impending concern and confirmed the submersible is spiralling movement past his grasp. Captured by the BBC Journey Present, the footage reveals the crew’s anguished response as they heard Mr Griffith’s distressing information concerning the malfunctioning thrusters of Titan.

Thankfully, the crew managed to reprogram the controller, enabling Titan to redirect its course in direction of the Titanic and efficiently resume the mission.

“Scott is like ‘Oh no, we have now an issue’,” one of many passengers is quoted as saying within the documentary.

“I used to be considering we’re not going to make it,” one other passenger, a lady, says within the brief clip uploaded on BBC Choose‘s YouTube channel.

On the ship above the floor of the ocean, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush helped Mr Griffith, in keeping with Sky Information.

The OceanGate vessel went lacking on June 18, with British explorer Hamish Harding, diving firm CEO Stockton Rush, French submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his son Suleman on board. 4 days later, the US Coast Guard confirmed that the Titan submersible had suffered a catastrophic implosion, ensuing within the dying of all 5 people.
