Subedar Main Pawan Kumar Jariyal of 25 Punjab Regiment, a resident of Shahpur in Kangra district, died in cross-border shelling by Pakistan Military in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch early on Saturday.
Jariyal, 50, who was slated to retire on August 31, had chosen the border city as his closing posting a number of months in the past.
His father, 75-year-old Garaj Singh Jariyal, stated he would have retired in three months after finishing 32 years in service. “Simply a few months in the past, he selected to be posted within the border city when he was given the choice to pick out his closing posting.
