Columbia president Minouche Shafik is now going through calls to step down instantly following criticism that she has not completed sufficient to crack down on the protests and to make sure that college students have a secure studying surroundings.
“In the course of the coming days, a working group of Deans, college directors and college members will attempt to deliver this disaster to a decision,” she shared in an announcement.
“I do know that there’s a lot debate about whether or not or not we should always use the police on campus, and I’m blissful to interact in these discussions,” Shafik continued. “I hope everybody can take a deep breath, present compassion, and work collectively to rebuild the ties that bind us collectively.”
