A policeman was killed and one other was injured after being run over by a car pushed by alleged cattle smugglers in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Sunday.
The deceased policeman was recognized as Assistant Sub-Inspector Yog Raj Singh.
Police mentioned Singh, together with a police crew, had laid a barricade at Phulpur within the Supwal space of the Samba, to nab the alleged cattle smugglers following a tip-off.
In the course of the early hours of Sunday, the police crew observed a car coming from the facet of the Worldwide Border and signalled it to cease.
The smugglers, nevertheless, elevated the pace of the car and rammed it into the barricade in a bid to flee, police mentioned.
