Prohibitory orders imposed after pickup van driver killed in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district | Bangalore News

Inside a month after a rowdy-sheeter and Hindutva activist was killed, one other homicide in Karnataka’s coastal area hit headlines as a pickup van driver was hacked to demise in Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday.

Abdul Raheem was hacked to demise whereas unloading sand close to Kambodi Irakodi close to Kolthamajalu, the place he lived, in response to sources.

A police officer mentioned the killers arrived on a motorcycle and attacked Raheem. An individual who accompanied him was injured within the assault.

The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders underneath part 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sanhita. The prohibitory orders shall be in pressure from 6 pm on Might 27 until 6 pm on Might 30 within the Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, Kadaba, and Sullia taluks.

District in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao condemned the incident and mentioned he had spoken to the DGP and the ADGP. “There may be an organised community making an attempt to disrupt peace in Dakshina Kannada district. This additionally appears like a part of a plan. I’ve directed the district administration to take motion. I request the general public to not pay heed to any rumours,” he added.

The Bantwal rural police have registered a case of homicide and are investigating.

On Might 1, Suhas Shetty was murdered in Mangaluru and 11 individuals have been arrested in reference to it. He had 5 instances in opposition to him–4 in Mangaluru metropolis and one in Dakshina Kannada district. He was the prime accused within the homicide of Mohammed Fazil, 23, in Surathkal on July 28, 2022.

Naushad alias Chotte Naushad, one of many accused in Suhas Shetty homicide, was attacked with stones within the Mangaluru central jail on Might 19. He has been transferred to Mysuru jail.
