Former Punjab chief minister and Congress chief Charanjit Singh Channi Friday sparked criticism from the BJP after he questioned the surgical strikes in Pakistan.
At a press convention in Delhi, the Congress chief stated of the federal government’s motion after Pahalgam: “The steps taken to this point — they’re that the residents from right here had been known as again and vice versa… What affect did it have?”
“They are saying surgical strikes had been completed in Pakistan. Nothing occurred, nobody noticed the surgical strikes. Nobody received to know,” stated Channi.
Requested if he was in search of proof for the surgical strike, the Punjab chief stated: “Sure, I’ve been doing so. However, in the present day the folks want their wounds to be healed.”
The BJP known as the remarks “sick”. Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari stated: “Rahul Gandhi’s Congress continues to defend Pakistani terror!” In a publish on X, he stated: “Now Charanjeet Singh Channi questions our forces. Why is Congress demoralising our forces at this important time. Congress is taking orders immediately from Pakistan.”
Channi later backtracked, telling ANI: “There may be nothing about surgical (strike) in the present day. I’m not asking for proof. What I’m saying is don’t attempt to divert from this [Pahalgam]. It is a very delicate subject. The harmless vacationers who had been killed after being requested about their faith — the nation and people households need justice in the present day. Authorities ought to present them justice. We’re with the federal government in each method.”
