The Karnataka Lokayukta stated it raided 12 authorities officers, together with a former director of the varsity schooling division, and seized disproportionate belongings price Rs 38 crore on Tuesday. The raids have been carried out on the homes of officers in and round Bengaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Haveri, Bidar, Udupi, Bagalkot, and Hassan.
The Lokayuka police stated they seized properties price Rs 7.32 crore in the course of the raids on the premises of V Sumangala, a former director of the Division of College Training, Analysis and Coaching (DSERT). Sumangala was suspended in July final 12 months for allegedly inflicting a lack of Rs 1.62 crore to the division by awarding an e-waste tender to an ineligible firm.
The Lokayukta stated that in Sumangala’s case, the raids have been carried out at six locations, including that they connected 4 websites, 5 homes, 19 acres of agricultural land, ornaments price about Rs 1 crore, autos price Rs 22 lakh, shares and mutual funds price Rs 96.73 lakh, amongst different belongings.
