A Moscow court docket on Thursday fined the Wikimedia Basis, proprietor of the web encyclopaedia Wikipedia, 2 million roubles ($24,525) for failing to take away what the court docket termed “pretend data” about Russia’s navy marketing campaign in Ukraine, Interfax reported.
The Wikimedia Basis has been hit with a string of fines as Moscow pursues a drive to crack down on impartial sources of knowledge. Wikimedia has beforehand stated data that Russian authorities have complained about was nicely sourced and according to Wikipedia requirements.
