Russian Ship, Suspected Of Carrying Drones Destroyed, Claims Ukraine

Feodosia is house to a significant Russian naval base on the occupied Crimean peninsula.

Kyiv:

Ukraine’s air pressure mentioned Tuesday it had destroyed a Russian fleet ship off the Crimean peninsula suspected of carrying drones to be used in Moscow’s battle towards Kyiv.

“Round 2:30 am (0030 GMT) on December 26, tactical aviation of the Air Drive attacked with cruise missiles the Novocherkassk giant touchdown ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation within the space of Feodosia,” it mentioned in a put up on messaging platform Telegram.

Feodosia is house to a significant Russian naval base on the occupied Crimean peninsula.

In an earlier message, it mentioned the Novocherkassk had been “destroyed”, including that “folks say that it transported Shaheds”, referring to Iranian explosive drones used frequently by Russia towards Ukraine.

Air pressure commandant Mykola Olechtchouk posted a video of a fiery explosion on the Russian naval base in Feodosia.

Sergey Aksyonov, the Kremlin-backed head of Crimea, mentioned: “An enemy assault was carried out within the space of Feodosia”.

“The port space is cordoned off,” he wrote on Telegram.

“As of now, the detonation has stopped and the hearth has been localised. All related providers are on web site. Residents of a number of homes shall be evacuated.”

Ukraine regularly carries out strikes in Crimea, significantly concentrating on the Russian army.

In April 2022, it sank the cruiser Moskva, the flagship of the Black Sea fleet.
