The share of crops within the gross worth of output of agriculture and allied sectors has declined by 7.5 share factors within the final 10 years, whereas livestock’s share has elevated by 5 share factors throughout the identical interval, reveals a report launched by the Nationwide Statistical Workplace (NSO).

The share of Forestry and Logging, and Fishing and Aquaculture too has elevated marginally. The share of forestry and logging has elevated from 7.8 per cent in 2011-12 to eight.42 per cent in 2020-21, whereas the contribution of fishing and aquaculture rose from 4.19 per cent to six.08 per cent throughout this era.
In line with the report, the gross worth of output (at fixed costs 2011-12) of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing sector (excluding irrigation) was recorded at Rs 26.12 lakh in 2020-21, which was Rs 19.08 lakh crore in 2011-12.
In 2020-21, three states—Uttar Pradesh (Rs 3.11 lakh crore), Maharashtra (RS 2.46 lakh crore) and Rajasthan (Rs 2.36 lakh crore)—contributed probably the most within the gross worth of agriculture, forestry and fishing sector within the nation.
