A highway in Karnataka’s Badanavalu village was reopened after about three a long time when Congress chief Rahul Gandhi visited the place on Gandhi Jayanti. The highway was shut on account of caste-based violence between Dalits and Lingayats within the village in 1993.

On Gandhi Jayanti, the Congress MP paid his floral tributes to the Father of the Nation at Badanavalu and later visited native weavers within the village.

He enquired about their well-being and interacted with them relating to the difficulties that they’re dealing with, the social gathering stated.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Bharat Jodo Yatra will stay halted on account of Dasara pageant.

On October 6, Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi will be a part of her son for the yatra within the state.
