Her father, Jamie, was named her authorized conservator that 12 months, and in 2013, the songbird, 42, claimed he pressured her off her common bipolar treatment and compelled her to take the highly effective mood-stabilizing drug lithium, which she stated left her feeling drunk.
“I’m bipolar, have been hospitalized for it, and had horrible experiences,” she instructed the court docket as she fought to finish the conservatorship in 2013. “I, too, had life stuff – not organic mind stuff – happening {that a} fast dialog would have uncovered.”
After the conservatorship was led to 2021, Spears stated she was “on the proper treatment.”
Followers speculate she will not be taking her meds recurrently, although, citing a sequence of untamed social media posts through which she typically is elated and different instances despondent.
