“Late Present” host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday mocked President Donald Trump’s renewed obsession with honoring the Accomplice leaders who fought towards the US through the Civil Struggle.
Trump this week mentioned he was restoring the names of these figures to U.S. army bases, together with one honoring Gen. Robert E. Lee.
“We received lots of battles out of these forts,” Trump mentioned.
Colbert fired again with a reminder straight from the historical past books.
“Sure, ’cuz while you suppose profitable, you suppose Robert E. Lee,” Colbert mentioned. “Similar cause we simply named our new battleship the USS New York Jets.”
