Negotiations on creating a security zone round Ukraine’s Russia-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant are robust, and Kyiv seems to be simply stalling for time, RIA Novosti cited Russian Deputy Overseas Minister Sergei Ryabkov as saying on Monday.

“Whereas consultations with the IAEA are ongoing, it could not be proper to make public details about the attainable parameters of the ZNPP safety zone. The negotiation course of shouldn’t be progressing simply,” Ryabkov mentioned in an interview with the company.
“We handed over our proposals to Rafael Grossi, the company’s director common. So far as we all know, Kyiv has not but given a transparent reply to the initiative of the IAEA head. Apparently, it is simply stalling.”
