Techie arrested in Bengaluru for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans amid border tensions | Bangalore News

Police in Bengaluru have arrested a 25-year-old software program skilled for allegedly shouting pro-Pakistan slogans from his paying visitor lodging at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.

The accused, Shubhanshu Shukla, hailing from Chhattisgarh, has been employed at a non-public agency in southeast Bengaluru for the previous 12 months. The incident occurred round 12.30 am on Could 9, when Shukla stood on the second-floor balcony of his PG lodging in Prashanth Format and allegedly raised pro-Pakistan slogans.

A PG resident from a constructing throughout the road rushed to his terrace and recorded a video of the incident, earlier than calling the police helpline of 112 and sharing the footage with officers, the Whitefield police stated.

The police stated Shukla had raised the slogans 3 times, although the video captured solely the ultimate occasion. They booked him underneath Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 152 (acts endangering sovereignty and unity of India), 197(1)(d) (statements towards nationwide integration), and 353(1) (statements inflicting public mischief).

In accordance with an investigator, Shukla has stated he had shouted the slogans impulsively, with none intention to trigger hurt.

The authorities have despatched the video to a forensic science laboratory for verification and picked up Shukla’s voice pattern for comparability. Moreover, a blood pattern was taken to find out whether or not he was inebriated or medicine on the time of the incident.

Shukla was initially remanded in judicial custody on Could 9. The police later sought his custody for additional questioning. He has now been despatched again to judicial custody, pending additional investigation.

That is the second such arrest made this week in Bengaluru metropolis. Earlier, a 25-year-old man referred to as Nawaz was arrested over a viral video the place he was purportedly seen saying, “Right now, India and Pakistan are at battle. Why hasn’t Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence been bombed but? When folks had been dwelling peacefully, this war-like state of affairs was created by PM Modi. His residence needs to be bombed first.”
