Tesla’s India nation head, Prashanth Menon, has resigned, Bloomberg Information reported on Thursday, at a time when the U.S. electrical carmaker is getting nearer to launching its automobiles on the planet’s third-largest automotive market.
Tesla’s China groups will oversee India operations, with no rapid successor named, the report stated, citing unnamed sources.
Menon is stepping down because the chairman of Tesla India’s board after working with the Elon Musk-led firm for practically 9 years, it added.
Tesla didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
In March, the carmaker had signed a lease deal to open its first showroom in Mumbai, Reuters had reported, reviving plans it had shelved final 12 months.
