
That relationship endured properly past the marriage day. When the Queen died in September 2022, Eugenie and Beatrice shared a joint assertion reflecting their grief.
“We have not been in a position to put a lot into phrases because you left us all,” they wrote.
“There have been tears and laughter, silences and chatter, hugs and loneliness, and a collective loss for you, our beloved Queen and our beloved Grannie. We, like many, thought you would be right here ceaselessly. And all of us miss you terribly.”
The assertion continued: “You had been our matriarch, our visitor, our loving hand on our backs main us by this world.”
In 2022, Eugenie mentioned she hoped her eldest son, August, born in 2021, would inherit the Queen’s qualities. She added she would “love Augie to have her endurance, her calmness, and her kindness, whereas at all times with the ability to snicker at himself and preserve a twinkle in his eye.”
