A 27-year-old man sustained extreme burns after his aunt allegedly threw acid on him suspecting him to be a thief at Dharmanagar in North Tripura district.
The injured man, recognized as Sushanta Debnath, is a resident of Anandabazar in Dharmanagar.
Whereas talking to reporters, Sushanta stated the incident occurred on the night time of Might 27, when he entered the home of his maternal uncle, who can also be his neighbour, after listening to some sound.
“I heard some noise and went there however noticed nothing. My maternal uncle requested whether or not I had come to steal something. My aunt threw acid at me. My youthful brother later took me to the district hospital, from the place I used to be referred to GBP Hospital (Agartala),” he stated.
Police stated two instances had been registered in reference to the incident–one in opposition to Sushanta’s uncle Jitendra Nath and aunt Kajali Nath and the opposite in opposition to him for coming into their home late at night time.
“We’re inquiring into the matter. We’ll take motion based mostly on proof,” an officer of the Dharmanagar police station stated on Wednesday.
