Belagavi Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled on Wednesday introduced the arrest of the accused, a Maharashtra native. The accused has been recognized as Madhukar Kondiram Somavamsha, 65, a local of Takrarwadi village in Indapur taluk, Pune district, the officer added.
In line with the police, the incident occurred close to Ambadgatti on the Pune-Bengaluru nationwide freeway when Hebbalkar was on her solution to Belagavi in her official automobile after attending a late-night Congress Legislative Occasion (CLP) assembly in Bengaluru on January 14. The police stated that the truck pushed by Somavamsha, which was transferring forward of the minister’s automobile, veered in direction of the correct with none sign, and the minister’s automobile crashed into the truck.
It’s learnt that the truck driver allegedly swerved to keep away from a canine on the highway. After the accident, the police stated Somavamsha had fled the scene with the truck.
