WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump revealed his intentions to reshape the Smithsonian Establishment with an government order Thursday that targets funding to applications with “divisive narratives” and “improper ideology.”
Trump mentioned there was a “concerted and widespread” effort over the previous decade to rewrite American historical past by changing “goal information” with a “distorted narrative pushed by ideology fairly than reality.”
He signed an government order placing Vice President JD Vance in control of an effort to “take away improper ideology” from the Smithsonian Establishment, together with its museums, training and analysis facilities and the Nationwide Zoo.
