Two youths from Arunachal Pradesh have reportedly gone lacking after they went out in quest of medicinal vegetation at a spot situated close to the border with China, information company ANI reported. The youths, recognized as Bateilum Tikro and Bayingso Manyu, are residents of Goilang city.
“Their members of the family lodged lacking complaints earlier than the police on October 9. Now we have contacted the military and our search and rescue operation are underway,” ANI quoted Rike Kamsi, superintendent of police, Anjaw district, as saying.
Tikro and Manyu had left for Chaglagam in Anjaw district on August 19, The Hindu reported. The report added that the household stated it has lodged the grievance after searches for the youths went in useless.
“We sought the assistance of the police as we suspect they might have crossed over to China inadvertently,” a member of the lacking Tikro’s household was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
“We are going to submit a report back to the state authorities after analyzing the witnesses, members of the family and the villagers dwelling close to the border. It is not uncommon for the locals to discover forests in quest of medicinal herbs,” Kamsi stated.
In January, Miran Taron, 17, a local of Zido village in Higher Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh had gone lacking from close to the Line of Precise Management (LAC). The district authorities stated the youth together with others had been searching within the border space between each international locations when the incident befell. Later, China’s Folks’s Liberation Military handed over the lacking boy to the Indian Military.
