Two Maoists killed in encounter with police in Chhattisgarh

Two Maoists had been killed in an encounter with safety forces in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on Monday, a police official mentioned.

The gunfight passed off at round 4 am in a forest surrounding Kadme village underneath Siksod police station limits when separate groups of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Border Safety Power (BSF) had been out on an anti-Maoist operation, he mentioned.

Some Maoists opened fireplace on the DRG’s patrolling crew following which the gun-battle broke out within the forest, situated round 150 km from state capital Raipur, the official mentioned.

After weapons fell silent, our bodies of two Maoists had been recovered from the spot, the official mentioned, including that their id was but to be ascertained.

A search operation was underway within the close by areas, he mentioned.
