Two top education dept officials among six held in Karnataka teachers’ recruitment scam

The legal investigation division (CID) investigating the Karnataka lecturers’ recruitment rip-off arrested six folks, together with two senior officers of the Division of Faculty Schooling and Literacy on Monday, officers stated.

The arrested people have been recognized as Karnataka Textbook Society director M P Madegowda, Samagra Shikshana Abhiyana director S Geeta, three retired joint administrators D Okay Shivakumar, Okay Ratnaiah and G R Basavaraj, and pc programmer Narasimharao.

Earlier, the CID had arrested 13 folks in reference to the case over alleged irregularities within the recruitment course of that happened in 2014-15. Three FIRs have been filed on the Vidhana Soudha police station lately, which have been then handed over to the CID for investigation.

The arrests, in keeping with sources, have been primarily based on the statements of lecturers and Okay M Prasad, who was a primary division assistant within the division.
